தமிழ்நாட்டில் திருவாரூர் மாவட்டத்தில் திருத்துறைப்பூண்டி கட்டிமேடு தொகுதியில் ஆதிரங்கம் என்ற சிறிய கிராமம் அமைந்துள்ளது....!!
ஆண்டுதோறும் இந்த கிராமத்தில் உள்ள பழங்கால கோவிலுக்கு தான் மக்கள் அதிக எண்ணிக்கையில் வருவார்கள் ஆனால் இன்று ஆதிரெங்கம் பண்ணையை பார்வையிட வரும் மக்களின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துள்ளது.அனைவரும் நெல் ஜெயராமனின் விலாசத்தை தேடி வருகின்றனர்....!!
விவசாயிகளை குழுக்களாக பிரித்து விவசாயத்தில் உள்ள பாதிப்புகளையும் அவற்றை எதிகொள்ளும் திறமைகளையும் தொடர்ந்து பயிற்றுவித்து வந்தார் . 2011 ஆம் ஆண்டில், கரிம வேளாண்மைக்கு தனது பங்களிப்பிற்காக சிறந்த கரிம விவசாயிக்கு மாநில விருதைப் பெற்றார், மேலும் 2015 ஆம் ஆண்டில் சிறந்த மரபணு இரட்சகராக தேசிய விருது பெற்றார்.
அவர் தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள பாரம்பரிய நெல் வகைகளை பிரபலப்படுத்தும் முயற்சியில் மாநிலத்துடன் இணைந்து செயலாற்றி கொண்டிருந்தார் . தமிழ்நாட்டில் CREATE எனப்படும் நுகர்வோர் அடிப்படையிலான அமைப்பின் பயிற்சி இயக்குனராக பணியாற்றிவந்தார் . இது நமது நெல் பிரச்சாரத்தைச் சேமிப்பதில் முக்கிய பங்காளியாக உள்ளது. அவர் நெல்லின் பாதுகாவலர் என்பதால் அவர் நெல் ஜெயராமன் என்ற புனைப்பெயரால் அனைவராலும் அழைக்கப்பட்டார் ..!

பல வகைகள்
அந்த நாள் முதல், கடலோர மாவட்டங்களிலும், தமிழ்நாட்டின் மற்ற பகுதிகளிலும் பல பாரம்பரிய நெல் வகைகள் இடம்பெறத் தொடங்கின.
அவர் 15 பாரம்பரிய நெல் வகைகள் பற்றி அடையாளம் கண்டு, நன்கொடை பண்ணையில் அனைவரையும் வளர்த்துக் கொண்டார்.
"நான் மற்றவர்களுக்கு விதை கிடைக்கும் அதிகரிக்க வேண்டும்," என்று அவர் கூறுவார்..!
ஜெயராமன் 37,000 விவசாயிகளுக்கு கரிம வேளாண்மை மற்றும் நெல் உற்பத்தி அதிகரித்துள்ளளார்..!!
2005 ஆம் ஆண்டில், அவர் முதல் பாரம்பரிய நெல் விதை விழாவை ஏற்பாடு செய்தார். அந்த ஆண்டில், அவர் 2 வகை விவசாய நெல் விதைகளை 15 வகைகளை 300 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட விவசாயிகளுக்கு வழங்கினார்.
